Activity 2
Web 2.0
What for
Web 2.0 is quite a controversial concept; different people and
Experts describe it in many different ways. For some of them this is a
continuation of web 1.0 (Sir Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the web), for
others (Tim O´Relly) this is an innovation called to revolutionize
internet and the usage society has of itself. The abovementioned
authors have quite confronted opinions about the question proposed:
what is web 2.0 and what it represents for society nowadays.
Therefore it is necessary, to find information, to have necessary
documents, understand different points of view, reflect? Furthermore it
is important to have one?s own criteria about the matter.
What has to be done
The proposed activities try to create a scenario on which reflection
and discussion are possible.
For that reason, the activities to do will be:
Subtask 1
Find information. There are two types of positioning regarding web 2.0:
for and against. Each group will be told to find information for or
against web 2.0: the task will consist in searching for information
that will help the comprehension and argumentation of the position to
be taken.
Subtask 2
Once the information has been compiled, a small document will have to
be done (1 page). That document will cover the main reasons to be for
or against web 2.0. That page will show diverse visions, opinions or
points of view of the different Group members for that reason, the
document has to be done by the whole Group and has to summarize the
opinion of the Group. If there were any difference, the Group will have
to discuss about how to handle them in order to get a consensus and an
agreed document made by all the members of the Group. To make this task
the group will have a forum arranged where the members will be able to
discuss, Exchange opinions, etc. The position of the Group will be
shown on the headline of the forum.
Subtask 3
You will have to take part in the forum defending the position you have
chosen (for or against web 2.0). On the first participation in the
forum, this document will have to be attached; each member of the Group
will have to make two contributions to the forum. However, if the group
wants, a coordinator can be chosen between the members of the Group. In
this case, the coordinator will inform of this decision on the first
participation and will have to make the proceeding interventions.
